Airstream Life

While living in San Diego County, we purchased our 2017 Airstream 27FB International Signature in June 2017. We hit the road full time in January 2018 and spent the next 2.5 years zigzagging around the western half of the United States and across the northern border. When the pandemic hit, RV life became more difficult and less enjoyable, so we decided to find a home base in which to settle for a while. We purchased a condo in Bozeman, Montana in July 2020, but continued to travel part time in the Airstream until January 2022, when we decided to sell it.

On this page, you’ll find information relating to our Airstream life. It’s currently a work in progress, so please disregard the haphazard way things may currently appear.

The cost of RV life can vary greatly and depends on multiple things:

  • Nightly cost of where you stay — we’ve paid anywhere from $0 to $155!
  • How many miles you travel — gas adds up quickly!
  • How much you spend on activities — a National Parks pass is a great investment!
  • Plus other variables including vehicle maintenance, vehicle insurance, mail service fees, food costs, storage unit fees, etc.

We like to give a little bit of a snapshot into what our costs are as well as the places we’ve visited. Find links to blog posts highlighting each stop on the maps below.
